You Ain’t No Picasso’s Favorite Concerts of 2012

#35: The Head and the Heart @ Forecastle [Original Post] I’d heard a song or two by Head and the Heart going into their show at Forecastle, but I’ll admit that I was really just seeing them because there wasn’t a lot of competition for their time slot at Forecastle. But just like what happens [...]

Radiohead @ Bonnaroo 6.8.12
June 13th, 2012 by Matt
I never thought I’d see the day that I skipped over an hour of a Radiohead performance, but that’s what happened at Bonnaroo. From what I caught, this show was every bit as powerful as their show in Cincinnati. They’ve clearly put so much work into this set that even with song inclusions and changes [...]

Radiohead @ Riverbend 6.5.12
June 6th, 2012 by Matt
One of the funniest things about Radiohead is that they’re otherwordly talented that they don’t have to take the easy path. Whether that means releasing their painstakingly crafted album online in a pay-what-you-want fashion or sitting on albums worth of incredible b-sides and unreleased songs, it’s all the same. Similarly, this tour finds one of [...]

Unreleased Radiohead track “How Do You Sit Still?”
December 22nd, 2011 by Matt
At Ease just posted this unreleased Radiohead song from what sounds like around the Pablo Honey-Bends period. It’s allegedly titled “Putting Ketchup in the Fridge,” but I’m going with “How Do You Sit Still” for obvious reasons. And if you missed the two 1980s unreleased demos I posted not long ago, you can catch them [...]

You Ain’t No Picasso’s favorite songs of 2011
December 5th, 2011 by Matt
2011 was (another) odd year for music. It felt like the average quality of albums was raised a bit, but nothing really stood out as a life-changing album or single of the year. Still, there was a lot of great music to be heard. Here’s fifty of my favorite tracks from the year, ranging from [...]

Hear two early Radiohead demos: “Everybody Knows” and “Girl (In a Purple Dress)”
November 20th, 2011 by Matt
That Radiohead existed in the mid-80s as “On a Friday” is common knowledge among Radiohead fans. What was not common until recently is possession of those early demos. Today we get two tracks from 1986 — before Johnny joined the band. On a Friday: “Everybody Knows” On a Friday: “Girl (In a Purple Dress)”
