I had to find some alternate sources for this news to make SURE it wasn’t an Onion story, but it appear to be legit. Paul McCartney is playing with Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear at a benefit tonight for the victims of Superstorm Sandy.

No word on exactly what the set will be, but I’d imagine it’s heavy on Beatles songs, a few covers and probably a Nirvana song or two. And while the majority of internet commenters seem to be outraged, I’m completely on board with this. Paul’s a great musician (3+ hour concerts!) and Kurt was a fan.
