When I started watching the video for Shields’s “Mezzanine” it was apparent that the video was going to be a big hook for the song. So I stopped watching the video and just listened to the song once without the visuals. Still a fan. Now, knowing I wasn’t just being roped in by a funny sock puppet video, I restarted the video and enjoyed it all together.
