By about 10 minutes into Bassnectar’s set I had a group of people with me ready to leave Forecastle. I refused to budge until I’d seen most of Sleeper Agent’s set. Given that I live not three hours away from this Bowling Green group, it feels a bit crazy that this was my first time seeing them. As much as I love their debut album Celebrasion, I was worried that they wouldn’t be able to live up to it live. Turns out that not only were they able to recreate their impressive sound on that album, they punched it up with a spirited performance. I didn’t really picture Sleeper Agent as a great live band, but I think they’ve got the potential to get to that point very soon. I left during their cover of the xx’s “VCR.”
