[mp3] Amanda Mair: “Sense”
March 5th, 2012 by Matt

I shared the video for Amanda Mair’s “Sense” about a month ago; now I’ve got an MP3 to share.
MP3: Amanda Mair – Sense
Amanda Mair is absolutely, 100% pop music. It’s what Top 40 stations would play in 2012 in a perfect world. But no, Mair isn’t likely to ever make it big in America. Instead she’s destined to be an obscure import. But it proves a valuable lesson: pop music has not exhausted itself. “Sense” is practically timeless. Its instrumentals sound like it could be a polished-up outtake from the Cure’s Japanese Whispers and Mair’s vocals are emotionally bare, but unwavering. This song is so perfect in its simplicity that I wish I had a dozen more just like it — a wish that’ll soon be granted when her album comes out on June 5th.
