My Morning Jacket have a new Christmas EP coming out via iTunes. There are a few Christmas covers, a new song “Welcome Home” and a live version of “Wonderful (The Way I Feel)” from Circuital.

But before you think these longtime indie record store supporters have turned their back on brick and mortar stores, wait for the second half of this news. They’re also releasing a 7-inch single of “Friends Again” and a different version of “Outta My System.” As Tom Blankenship told me in our interview, those two songs were written for a proposed live tour of the Muppets where the Jacket would be the band behind Electric Mayhem. Now those are finally being released. This colored seven-inch is only available in independent record stores next week.
