It’s a big week for concerts in the Lexington area! I wanted to highlight some of my choices for the week. If you’ve got shows you’re excited about this week (or in the near future), drop ‘em in the comments to spread the good word!

Tuesday: Madeline playing KFTC fundraiser @ Al’s Bar

This was completely under my radar because I didn’t recognize the name “Madeline Adams” as the same Madeline who’s been putting out beautiful pop records for the past few years. Stream some of her songs over here.

Wednesday: Beirut at the KY Theater

Unless you splurged for tickets to the Pixies or are a big moe. fan, this is likely where you’ll be if you have concert plans on Wednesday. Beirut’s playing a nice seated venue, which will be a welcome change from the concert performance I caught a few years ago. Watch the video for “Elephant Gun” in preparation

Thursday: The Grover Norquist Quartet @ Al’s

Friday: Mister Heavenly @ Cosmic // Passion Pit DJ Set at PRHBTN (late night)

I’ve been led to believe that the Passion Pit DJ set will happen late enough to make attending both of these performances a possibility. We’ll see. Mister Heavenly is the blessed union of Man Man, Islands/Unicorns and Modest Mouse/Shins members. The result is incredible. Watch their video for “Bronx Sniper”
