There were some incredible sets at last year’s Come As You Aren’t. However, I’ve got to give it to this year’s bands in terms of immersion as the bands they’re covering. Cheyenne Mize’s set as PJ Harvey must’ve made any fans who saw her in the 90s do a double-take. Everything about her set fit PJ Harvey perfectly — and more importantly, it was fantastic!

My only let down of the night wasn’t with Cheyenne, but was with me: I’m not that familiar with PJ Harvey. I’ve heard Rid of Me a few times, but not enough to be really familiar with the materiel yesterday. Still, that’s got to reinforce how good her set was if I loved it despite the unfamiliarity.

If anyone in Kentucky missed it (which I figure they did, since attendance was in the couple of hundreds), Cheyenne is performing her covers set again on Halloween night at Headliner’s in Louisville!
