These United States @ Cosmic Charlies 10.14.11

I’ve seen These United States a lot, but this was easily one of the best. Their shows always have a feel about them. This time it felt like they’re on the verge of something great. Not only were they really firing on all pistons, but their new material sounded great. It was a night of all their best songs, some awesome new ones and even a cover of a Faces song. It was a great night to be in Lexington.

Cameron: he was on the far left. I had a spot against the stage and kept it for the whole show. Tom and Robbie were pretty much in darkness for most of the show and I couldn’t even see Justin. He was still there, though!

I missed their last show as locals in DC, and am sad to see them go. I hope to never forget watching Jesse sing “Can you picture that?” from the Muppet Movie at about one quarter speed at a small club in nothern Virginia.
