This was one of the coolest things I saw at Boomslang this year. But the wildest thing about seeing Hong Shao’s Pipa Club is that they aren’t some exotic act — they’re local. It’s three women who play the pipa, an incredibly old Chinese instrument. If you get the chance to see them play around town, please take it. This is an opportunity that not everyone gets.
