Kishi Bashi @ Headliner’s 9.5.11
September 8th, 2011 by Matt

I was excited to catch Kishi Bashi as Of Montreal’s opener this week, but I had no idea how much I’d enjoy his show. He’s good on record, but great live. K performs solo, looping his vocals, violin and beats to create songs that were at times sublime and other times insanity that bordered on genius. His classical leaning makes Owen Pallett the easy comparison, but that’s really just a touch of what his live show entails.

Bought his CD immediately after his set. One of the best opening acts I’ve ever seen. Absolutely beautiful.
