Any girl-fronted band in 2011 with a two word name that begins with “Best” is basically asking me to say they have a bad or poorly chosen name. OK. Best Youth have a bad/poorly chosen name. Now that we got that out of the way, we can continue.

Best Youth, to their credit, sound nothing like Best Coast. They sound a good deal like Bat For Lashes, which is a pretty welcome thing. You can check out their song “Hang Out” above and download their new EP Winterlies at their website if you like it.
