Finally! It took until mid-June, but we’ve now got a peek at Pepper Rabbit’s upcoming album Red Velvet Snow Ball. I guess it’s not that much of a wait when you consider that it doesn’t come out for another month and a half. Still, color me super excited for it.

I’ve compared previous Pepper Rabbit songs to Grizzly Bear and Vampire Weekend, but this one hits vocally pretty close to Michael Nau of Page France/Cotton Jones. It’s an uplifting melody with backing instrumentals that are even more so. Mix its dreamy nature with some painfully aware lyrics about graduation and it’s sure to turn into a minor classic within my iTunes library.

Red Velvet Snow Ball is out August 9 on Kanine Records.
