I know of C Spencer Yeh/Burning Star Core through the experimental music guys in Lexington and at WRFL. They turned me on to his stuff a few years ago, but I haven’t done the best job of keeping up with him. That’s why I was fairly surprised to learn that he’d moved from Cincinnati to Brooklyn. Oh well, thanks to the internet it’s pretty easy to keep up with someone’s musical output even if they live hundreds of miles away.

“In the Blink of an Eye” is definitely the catchiest thing I’ve ever heard from C Spencer Yeh. While far from being a super-sugary indie pop song, this is stilly pretty catchy for his songs. His deep, throaty voice keeps it interesting, offering a bit of contrast to the glimmer of the backing track.
