Sometimes I think we take the internet for granted. In the old days, you’d have to know someone who was really into 60s girl pop to uncover this song — and forget about finding anyone who had a copy of the video. Now it just takes a friend of a friend to introduce you to something incredible. I found this Audrey Arno video for “Un College Anglais” in just that way. It’s some darling 60s french girl pop (Yé-yé, though I’m not sure this strictly counts) that’s perfect for the spring weather we’ve been having. Those of you who took French in high school or college may yourselves able to understand more of this song than most others. That’s because Audrey Arno was impersonating French with an English accent — makes sense, given the title of the song.

Oh and appologies if the “la la la” chorus in the beginning makes you want to die. It gets better. That’s the last time it sounds like deranged cats.
