Masters of the Hemisphere reunite, share new MP3

January 19th, 2011 by Matt

Let’s not bury the lede: Athens, GA band the Masters of the Hemisphere are getting back together and have given You Ain’t No Picasso an exclusive new song to share. As for the reunion, here’s the only information I have at the moment. The original group has reformed, recorded a 12-song album titled Maybe These are the Breaks and hopes to do a bit of touring in 2011. MOTH have been broken up for 8 years now, eventually fragmenting into Je Suis France, Still Flyin and a number of other groups.

MP3: Masters of the Hemisphere – Volcano

Maybe These Are the Breaks is an extremely varied — but strong — record. It flows from straight up indie pop to delicate acoustic songs and reggae jammers. No word on a release but Kindercore will be involved.

Very sorry about that. It’s fixed now, though.

YES!! Thanks for sharing, Masters and Matt. I hope they tour around here, or at least somewhere easily drivable. We saw them play in Athens in Fall ’09, and they’ve totally still got it. One of the most fun shows in recent memory for sure!
