[VIDEO] Sufjan brings “Too Much” to Fallon

November 20th, 2010 by Matt

I’ll admit that Sufjan’s latest tour setup has me thinking along these lines, but there’s still something cool about seeing him do his kooky dance on Fallon. Plus the songs are still gems, so that goes a long way toward smoothing things over.

sometimes i get mad at things like this. when it is clear that things aren’t weird to be art, but weird to be weird, or weird to be quirky, or weird to be funny. i’ve dealt with of montreal’s nonsense. i think this is nothing more than pretentious. the song, however, was alright, so i guess i’ll give in and listen to his album.

i just think the whole act takes a lot away from the writing of the music, and i don’t see its function.

    WOW.

i remember seeing him play this tiny club in bloomington in 2003 or 2004… it was just him and his banjo, and he was so shaky and nervous that we all thought he was going to start crying. i’ve seen him a couple times since, and his performances keep getting bigger and bigger, and finally this!

i’m just happy for him. the music is still great, and he looks like he’s having fun.
