Last night I made it about 15 minutes into the VMA preshow before I begged my girlfriend to let me put on anything else. I think it was the horrible monster/robot they’re calling Nicki Minaj that made me lose my mind. But apparently all was not exceptionally bleak for the rest of the evening. Kanye debuted a new track and it’s pretty good. Gotta give him credit for the sparse stage show — who else builds the song on sampler right at the award show?
