the Arcade Fire @ Lollapalooza 8.8.10
August 22nd, 2010 by Matt

The Arcade Fire’s headlining set at Lollapalooza proved that no matter how you feel about their latest record, they’ve still got it where it counts — their live show. They’ve quickly grown up (six years ago they were playing at the Dame in Lexington, KY) but they’ve raised their game in proportion to their audience. Yeah, you could argue about what should’ve been in the setlist (“My Body is a Cage”) but it was still just great. Plus, they closed with their rockers all in a row: “Neighborhood #3 (Power Out),” ” Rebellion (Lies),” “Month of May,” “Keep the Car Running” and the encore of “Wake Up.” Could they do it any better than that? We’ll have to wait until album #4 to find out.

Lots more photos after the break

I couldn’t agree with you more about “My Body is A Cage”. It’s the song I knew they weren’t going to play, but secretly hoping they would. It would have sounded epic in that atmosphere.

Like the hair. Love the new album. It is fantastic. A real cohesive work as an album. That is hard to pull off. Also, great live. Saw them in Atlanta, not Chicago, but I gather the set is the same.
