Surfer Blood were better than I thought they’d be. As the past two years have shown, these quickly-hyped bands often wind up thrust onto a big stage with very little skills. But even if their moves were, as one photog friend put it, “straight out of Guitar Hero,” everything about their live show was just how you’d hope it would be. Good thing, too, they had a huuuuge crowd.
