Tyler from the band Mura Mura emailed me the other day to let me know that he and a friend recorded some songs together and had put the results up as a free download on their website. Doesn’t exactly inspire confidence, right? Two guys who’ve never played a show together are giving their music away for free? Well if you thought along those lines, you’d be wrong in this particular instance. Mura Mura make some gooood pop music.

How does “Rabbit” hit the ears? Like a sunnier Beirut playing alongside Kite Flying Society, maybe? The best thing about this track is that all the wheels are moving in the same direction. Each component –the drums, the guitar, vocal, everything — all work toward making this a great pop song. If this track had a label, it’d be “TO BE PLAYED IN THE SUNSHINE.”
