The Arcade Fire covers archive :: 18 covers and counting!

Now that it’s official that the Arcade Fire will be making their return to the stage, I figured it’d be fun to add them to the long list of covers archives I’ve put together. So sure, everyone knows the Arcade Fire used to do a mean cover of the Talking Heads, but did you know they’ve done Smiths, Clinic and Sam Cooke covers?

  1. I have an MP3 of them playing “Love Will Tear Us Apart” with U2 if you’d like it. Quality’s not great though.

  2. They covered “Queen Bitch” with Bowie in Central Park in the fall of 05 or 06, can’t remember, but it was an unbelievable encore (Bowie also sang a verse of “Wake Up”).

Thanks for compiling this! Can’t wait to see these guys at Lollapalalla!

  3. great post man.

i think Poupee de Cire, Poupee de Son was by serge gainsbourg thought. could be wrong.

  4. Don’t have the mp3 but I saw them do Dylan’s “Hard rain is gonna fall” in Austin. I think it shortly after 9/11.

  5. Hi, thanks for all of this !
Might sound stupid, but can we download the songs or are they only for streaming use ?

  6. Hey thanks for putting this list together, pretty awesome post. I can’t get enough of Arcade Fire lately, I am happy to be alive in the days of AF and tell my kids about them in 20 years.
