The frontman/hold on section of the song is a lot older than five years. Those of you familiar with his back catalog will recognise an older, slightly different version of it from a rarities cd that was put out several years ago, as well as the tour edition of oddities sodomies –which was a collection of older material — that came out awhile ago.

Don’t worry, worrisome (^), I’m sure he’s a fine guy. It was just a bad call to publicly call a technician a fucking idiot when he was trying to help and then flip off a crowd of people that have no idea what’s going on. All I’m saying is I’d probably rather have a beer with the tech.

They opened for Of Montreal when I saw them in L.A. and one of their keyboards wasn’t working properly so the a technician came out to take a look at it. “Ariel” or whatever said something to the effect of “make it work you f*cking idiot” and the guy (rightfully so) just left the singer to fix it on his own. Overwhelmed with frustration, he flipped off the audience, had his band play a medley of their best stuff (which was a trainwreck), and he flipped us off again and left the stage. Worst thing I’ve ever seen at a show. That being said, it’s not a bad song, nor do I really associate quality of music with the like-ability of the artist, but thought yall might enjoy the anecdote.
