Good stuff always happens when I put on DJ Kool’s “Let Me Clear My Throat.” Normally it’s just a dance party or internal happiness, but this time it was an email in my inbox with a link to the new Holy Fuck song “Latin America.” So that begs the question: should I be playing this song every day in hopes that my life will rule from here on out OR should I save it for special occasions so as not to wear down the mojo of that classic tune? That’s one to ponder. And while you’re thinking, enjoy this brand new song.

You’ve really got to admire the growth on this track. Holy Fuck’s first full length was really impressive, but most of the songs were way better live than they were on the album. With “Latin America” I can already tell that when they went back to the drawing board for Latin, they had learned a great deal in the past few years. The production is incredible, there’s a real flow to the song and it captures a lot of the power from their live show. It might sound silly to say that an instrumental group’s new track shows “maturity” in their sound, but it really does. Can’t wait to hear the full record.
