[MP3] new Black Rebel Motorcycle Club: “Conscience Killer” & “Beat the Devil’s Tattoo”

March 2nd, 2010 by Matt

Just found out that I’m clear to share these two tracks off BRMC’s new album Beat the Devil’s Tattoo. Get out your black leather, cigarettes and boots, guys.

MP3: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Conscience Killer
MP3: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Beat the Devil’s Tattoo
Now, I say this as a fan: there’s really no point in me trying to “review” new BRMC songs other than to say how good or bad they are. They’ve pretty much sounded the same for the past few records and it’s a strong, consistent sound that their fans know to expect. Sure, “Conscience Killer” runs more toward the raw power of the Stooges and “Beat the Devil’s Tattoo” is on the acoustic-plus-electric-riff side of their discography, but that’s about as much info as you need if you’ve heard any of their albums. So how good are they? Pretty good. It’s not quite up to some of their best work, but I’m still digging the new album.

I have have been completely underwhelmed with everything BRMC has released since B.R.M.C. nothing they’ve released since then has really had the same urgency that album had.

Dude, quit releasing free shit and regurgitating the same shit every other generic blog posts. You fucking bottom feeders have no talent and do not realize the fucking internet DOES NOT MATTER. All of the energy you spend updated this website; you could have made like 3 fucking albums man…..Get off your lazy ass…..make art…..be original…….and fuck off. This shit is so fucking hilarious to us man. Where do you get your spare time?? Seriously, I wanna know…..It must be nice. And whoever ‘Bobby’ is…..???? ARe you serious dude…..I might have fucked your mom if you live in Milwaukee . Really dude her (x 2) son’s name was Bobby.

Not really sure what you’re talking about with the “free shit”and “regurgitating shit” stuff, Rob. I’d been listening to the new album for a while, unaware that there were any MP3s I could post. Then when a publicist — who I can only assume is indirectly paid by you — emailed me to ask me to post on your album (funny, given that the internet DOES NOT MATTER), I found out that I could share these two songs. I did. Somehow you got angry about it.

If you want to talk about it or the idea that playing bass is more “original” than writing and photography, feel free to email me: matt(at)youaintnopicasso.com

    er, matt…..

you´re not really believing this was a post by been, are you?

  • Matt

I have no reason to assume it wasn’t. But no matter who wrote it, my response is the same.

    so you actually think

    A. Robert reads this site and cares
    B. Robert would make a comment like that (never would, as he’s a nice, super low key dude)
    C. That your writing and photography is on the same level as his music?

    fucking hilarious.

  • robness

I’d like to replace that last line with: “you ain’t no picasso”

  • Matt

    A. wouldn’t be the first time a band left an angry message.
    B. never met him. Also the poster seemed drunk, which turns even nice people into rude people sometimes.
    C. He ripped into me for wasting my time on YANP and said I could have written three albums by now with the time I spend doing this. I get creative happiness by writing and taking photos of bands. People play music, write, photograph, draw and make movies at different skill levels — my point is that it’s all creative and it’s all good. For him to say I should “be original” and “fuck off” because I’m not writing music is pretty rude no matter who he is, wouldn’t you agree?

And a You Ain’t No Picasso to you too.

  • Fully

Thanks for posting these. I appreciate what you do.

  • robness

I would agree. It’s just that it wasn’t him. Seems people do that all the time, post as Thom Yorke or whoever the article is about.

Anyways, keep spreading the good word about good music, and do what makes you happy.

    best,
    RF
