Thanks to the Decibel Tolls Soft tadalafil, for pointing me to this new cover Emily Reo did of Built to Spill's "Cars." Unfortunately I'm not really that up on my BTS, so I had to youtube the original. Embarrassing, I know.

And if you missed it, here's her original track that I fell for earlier this month, soft tadalafil.

I would have figured you to have some Built To Spill in your collection already and a good working knowledge of them. They are truly a great band and Doug Martsch is everything that people (rightly) think Stephen Malkmus to be.
I would suggest picking up their “Live” album since you enjoy that format so much (and since they dont at all disappoint in that capacity), and after you fall in love with them, you can follow Martsch to his other projects like The Halo Benders and Treepeople.
Love Rock awaits you, people.

Ahhh, I’ll admit to not really knowing Emily Reo’s work, but I’m not a huge fan of this cover. Sounds like she has a beautiful voice that unfortunately seems too mucked up by the synth for me to enjoy on this song. I think the BTS original really relied on Doug’s lyrics over the relatively simple melody. I’ll definitely give a listen to her other material though.
