I remember being one of only a few people in a coffee shop in Richmond watching Ben play. I’m unimaginably thrilled that he’s sky rocketed like this! And you really haven’t lived until you hear him cover “When Doves Cry.”

I was so glad I decided to attend. I agree about the chemistry part, amazing. I had never heard Ben Sollee before, the guy can play. Very refreshing take on a classic instrument. Great harmonies all around. Cheyenne Mize was great as well. Thanks for the pics!

I would venture to guess there were far more than 70 people crammed in. There were more people last night than for Cursive… I’m pretty sure that was the largest in-store I’ve ever seen here (save BRMC, but that was outside. WOOHOO technicalities!). Haven’t had a chance to listen to the whole recording yet, but the couple songs I have listened to sound pretty pristine even in rough form. Should you want, I can ask Sub Pop if you can have it for YANP, if you’d like!
