I’ll admit to being suckered into giving Inlets a chance based on the guests he’s got on his upcoming record. But when you can talk Angel from the Dirty Projectors and Zach from Beirut into making an appearance on your album, clearly you must have something good going on — either that or you’re a hell of a nice guy. So until I meet up with this dude, I’ve got to assume it’s because he writes good songs like this one.

I don’t want to get your hopes up by saying that this sounds like Radiohead’s Hail to the Thief-era minor chord stuff mixed with a little bit of Grizzly Bear production… but it kinda does. And while that’s a crazy high bar to set, Inlets does a good job of of at least nearing it.
