[MP3] new Caribou: “Odessa” // new LP out in April!

I was a little slow getting into Caribou, but once I did it didn’t take long to turn me into a full-fledged fan. Andorra bowled me over and seeing them live only cemented the process. Now we’ll find out if a third in the series will kill me. Caribou are releasing Swim April 20 on Merge. Here’s our first look at the new album.

MP3: Caribou – Odessa
There’s a little more dancefloor in the background of “Odessa” than previously harnessed by Caribou. It sounds kind of like Think About Life doing an energetic track with some vocals supplied by someone who’d just had a couple sips of Drank. And, as always, this is a really well-produced, layered track. If Dan Snaith ever gets tired of writing songs, he’s got a great career as a producer ahead of him.

  1. is it actually dan singing on this track? it sounds a lot like Erlend Oye or whatever that guys name from Whitest Boy Alive.. then again, Dan’s always been a bit of a shapeshifter and this is shaping up to be pretty awesome

  2. I think so. The Born Ruffians dude sings on “Jamelia,” but I couldn’t find any reference to anyone else doing guest vocals.
