Somehow Seabear’s new album almost slipped by me. I mean, it’s not out yet, but I still had no idea it was even on the horizon. I really loved their last record and from the looks of “Lion Face Boy,” this one should be about as good.

If you scratch the surface, it’s still the same old Seabear underneath, but I think they’ve been enjoying a lot of Andrew Bird since we last spoke to them. “Lion Face Boy” is a lot slower and more delicate than the songs off their debut. Plus that plucked violin just screams “I am a fan of Andrew Bird.” Of course, I’ve been known to scream the very same thing from time to time, so it’s probably best that they put that to work.
