Buying generic cialis, If it's December at You Ain't No Picasso, then it's time for Mixmas. Every year I like to turn YANP over to some of my favorite bands to showcase some of their favorite songs through a themed mix. They pick a theme, five songs that fit the theme and then share a little about why they picked each one, buying generic cialis. This year I'm also giving away a YANP shirt, so check below for the hint about tomorrow's mix.
MP3: Buying generic cialis, Pants Yell. - Cold Hands
As I said yesterday, I used to write about Pants Yell, buying generic cialis. allll the time. Buying generic cialis, It seemed like they were usually up to something or another. And now, after a lull of about two years, I've got loads to write about them again. Now while we wait for the new album, we're blessed by a visit by lead singer Andrew, who's letting us in on some of his favorite "walking" songs, buying generic cialis.
"Walking Songs" by Andrew Churchman of Pants Yell!
MP3: The Aislers Set - The Walk (Peel session)
Co-written by Dustin Reske of Rockeship with lyrics referencing Lydia Lunch and masturbation - three reasons this band is one of the most crucial groups in indie-pop. Buying generic cialis, A minor key vamp that perks up in the chorus. Great for winter walks.
Shelby Bryant - The Walk
If I had to choose, this might be my favorite song ever. A mysterious man is Shelby Bryant. He was in a band called the Clears that were not very good then released this solo album 'Cloud Wow Music' that is very, very, very good. I've tried to make the line in this song - 'My pants are tight, my mind is loose, I'm not frightened' my personal mantra. For fall walks.
MP3: REM - We Walk
Growing up my brother was a huge REM fan, he was in their fan club and Mike Mills once wrote him a postcard. A simple child-like bass line and lyrics referencing the death of Marat. They should have continued their career making songs just like this one. Perfect.
MP3: Prefab Sprout - Walk On
B-side to their scarce second single. Greatest songwriter of the '80s. I think so. Paddy McAloon could write a television commercial and I'd listen to it on repeat. Ideal for London walks.
Dionne Warwick - "Walk On By" [Youtube link]
Even though you've probably heard this a thousand times in dentist offices and AM radio, there is no denying the beauty of this gem of a song. I wish Dionne Warwick and Burt Bacharach were my parents. Great for morning walks to work / post-break up walks.
Tomorrow's hint: the next contributor is a New York singer who's worked with Ryan Adams, but does most of her stuff solo. She's also a longtime Mixmas contributer, so it's great to have her back again in 2009.
