On Tuesday my co-worker found a promo DVD of an Ike & Tina show from 1971 buried away in a shelf of the record store. We popped it in and shortly thereafter had our minds blown for the next hour. Their performance packs more of a punch than 95% of concerts I’ve seen. Everyone has choreographed dance moves and a great singing voice. There’s never a wasted moment. They also do a few great covers: “Higher” by Sly and the Family Stone, “Honky Tonk Woman” by the Rolling Stones and this version of “Come Together” by the Beatles. Fan-tastic DVD that I’d highly suggest picking up.
