A week or two ago I heard Holiday Shores on WRFL and made a note to check them out when I got home. Well, must’ve not been a very good note, because I forgot until this weekend. Now that I’m giving away a pair of tickets to their Louisville show with Evangelicals, I thought that this might be a great time to familiarize those who haven’t heard Holiday Shores yet.

You’re going to call me crazy for it, but Holiday Shores’ “Phones Don’t Feud” seems to bridge the gap between the lo-fi psych craze currently gripping the blogosphere in 2009 and the Vampire Weekend wave that was riding high in 2008. It’s awash with trippy vibrations, but there’s also a pep to the guitar part that has me remembering the first time I heard Vampire Weekend.
