Yesterday the Whigs upped the number of free songs from their upcoming album In the Dark to two. We already had the title track, now you can get “Hundred / Million” by heading over to the Whigs’ web site — or looking just a little lower on this page.

Between this and “In the Dark” I think this might be the record where I like all the Whigs’ verses more than their choruses. It’s like the verses are fairly raw and Mudhoney-esque (like the best stuff off Mission Control) but the choruses are where they thought “oh man, we still want girls to show up to our concerts.” But hey, I can’t fault ‘em for trying to please everybody. Any time I’ve ever seen them live they’ve always managed to leave everyone smiling.
