Today we've got a contribution from Boogie Boarder, a group I stumbled across not too long ago, cialis capsules. I always love doing a My First Time with younger bands, because it's often our first chance to find out some interesting details about bands we don't know that well yet. First record you bought
Cyrus: NWA- Straight Outta Compton. I got this in 1st grade, it was a gift from my brother, cialis capsules.

Cyrus: Metallica-Master of Puppets
Mark: Led Zeppelin I

First concert you attended
Cyrus: Red Hot Chili Peppers in the 5th grade. I think I’d been to others like with my parents but this was the first thing with friends, cialis capsules. they played all the hits, flea got naked.
Mark: Ted Nugent was involved

First concert that blew you away Cialis capsules, Cyrus: Rob Zombie in 8th grade, he fought a giant animatronic devil, but also I saw deerhoof in like 2002 at some shitty space in boston... they were unreal.

First time playing live
Cyrus: When I was in high school I was in a band that played house parties and shit like that, not really the best music though…
Mark: I wish Ted Nugent was involved

First tour (horror stories, unexpectedly great shows, etc)
Cyrus: We had this really shitty show in knoxsville TN where some drunk 30 something who just got dumped was constantly trying to get on the mic while we played. the show sucked but somehow we got payed twice because the venue was so disorganized. also the bands got unlimited beer so as we were leaving some homeless dudes walked in and i gave them a shit ton of beer.
Mark: We left a bad, but in retrospect awesome, show in Greenville, NC and decided to start driving to our next show in Baton Rouge, LA. We left at around three. We all bought a bunch of big energy drinks. I was on deck as second driver. We had two cars with five people. Within an hour one driver was ready to fall asleep. I chugged my vaguely grape energy drink and got behind the wheel. Within an hour the other driver was ready to sleep. Everyone else already was. We pulled off the highway and stopped at a gas station. Cyrus gave us, in one car, a bat, and he clutched a knife in the other for protection. We locked the doors and everyone went to sleep but me behind the wheel in a Honda element where the seat couldn’t recline. I couldn’t sleep and tried to read a book but the words danced and mocked me. I knocked on the window of Cy’s car to try and get my pillow. He awoke with a start and clutched his knife, saw it was me, reached to unlock the doors but fell asleep before he could. This happened three times. I never got my pillow. I never slept. I watched some guys try to tow away a truck for two hours. When it was seven or so, I woke everyone up and told them we should get going. I was laughing and on the verge of tears. I may have been crying. I was very tired. When we got on the road, I was in a daze, and I think we drove through a wild fire. There was smoke everywhere, but I can’t be sure.

First instrument you learned and/or first piece of equipment you loved
Cyrus: i got a drum set at a yard sale
Mark: My first instrument, besides recorder, was the violin. The first one I loved was the trumpet, which I picked up a few months later and blew loud, obnoxious notes in my back yard.

First band you were a part of
Cyrus: Sic Transit Gloria
Mark: I played a sublime cover on bass while my friend chris played the drums in his attic. We were young and stole cigarettes. I guess it was a band.

First time getting press and/or being interviewed
Cyrus: First real time I got interviewed was for Anthem magazine and it was over a really shitty cell speakerphone. They guy was really hard to hear and was using words I didn’t know, at the end I wasn’t really sure what had happened but the thing turned out quite complementary..

First song you wrote and/or recorded
Cyrus: I wrote some songs with my brother in high school that were cool, they had no name and have since been lost
Mark: Three chords. Maybe five.

First awesome thing that happened solely because you were in a band
Mark: Beer maybe, or a pretty girl who liked my music, but in the end walked away.
Cyrus: I think the first time I heard a song I wrote on the radio, that really bugged me out… also what mark said

First horrible thing that happened solely because you were in a band
Cyrus: Dallas…
Mark: Beer maybe, or a pretty girl who liked my music, but in the end walked away.

First reactions from your family when you played them your music
Cyrus: The first thing they heard was a collaboration with my brother so I think they were just stoked that they’re boys still play together.

First musical obsession (band, song, singer, genre or otherwise)
Cyrus: The Boss and Talking Heads, when I was really young I would freak the fuck out if one or the other wasn’t playing in the car.
Mark: The Grateful Dead.
