Circulatory System @ Al’s Bar 9.19.09
September 21st, 2009 by Matt

I don’t mean to suggest that the E6 Holiday Surprise Tour wasn’t one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, but the Circulatory System’s performance this weekend was even better than what they did last fall.
For starters, they have a fantastic new album full of great songs to perform. Hearing all the new songs, especially “Overjoyed,” was a treat that I didn’t get to enjoy the first time around for the obvious reason that they had not yet been recorded. Additionally, instead of kicking around the setlist with half a dozen other bands, the Circulatory System got to focus on achieving a nice flow that eluded them last go-around. There were fantastic transitions among the three percussionists that weaved one song into another, some songs had a beautiful interplay between John’s violin and Heather’s cello, while others just benefited from the dual guitar attack.

More photos after the break.
