Roadside Graves @ Monolith 9.12.09

September 13th, 2009 by Matt

I thought I arrived at Monolith too late catch Roadside Graves’ set, but was thrilled to be wrong. They were playing the smaller stage at the bottom of everything (which I nicknamed the “Inconvenient Stage”) but had assembled a good sized crowd. Everyone standing around seemed to really enjoy their set, and you can definitely count me in with that group.

Roadside Graves also had the best quote about Monolith: “We’re just a bunch of drunks from New Jersey, so just being here is incredible.” Well, for a bunch of Jersey drunks (there’s another kind? yuk yuk yuk), they did a fantastic job. They borrowed some instruments from Avi Buffalo and had to use a garbage bin as a replacement snare drum. Tough going for any band, but Roadside Graves didn’t seem to miss a beat.
