Sugar and Gold (who you might remember as having opened for Of Montreal earlier this year) have a new 12″ coming out soon. The a-side is this cover of Fancy’s song “Slice Me Nice” and the b-side is a remix of one of their songs by Justin Van Der Volgen of !!!.

My initial reaction was that it’s too much disco for my soul, but strangely I’ve played it twice since then. Maybe the saving grace here is that this cover is just a lot of fun. I’d imagine it’s even better live, which is why it’s great that it also comes with a big group of tour dates, including Lexington and Monolith’s opening party tomorrow night.
