Dark Meat have a new record coming out October 20 and it sounds like it's going to be pretty wild -- which, for a group that's already wild, is really saying something. I'm basing that off one track, which isn't always the best idea, but at least I won't have to make my assumptions alone. MP3: Dark Meat - The Faint Smell of Moss This is pretty far off from the horn-heavy debut that I fell for two or three years ago. But the crazy thing is that it's not too bad. Yeah, I miss the dense pop quality to the first record, but this is even more dense if not quite as catchy. My first reaction is that it sounds like the hippie version of the Black Angels, which is not something I thought I'd ever hear (let alone something I'd enjoy).
