[MP3] new Intelligence: “Me n’ Arthur Lee”
August 27th, 2009 by Matt

When Lars Finberg sent back his my first time interview, he included an MP3 of a new song called “Me ‘n Arthur Lee.” The idea was for me to post it at the same time, but I figured it might get lost in the shuffle. Now, a few days later, I’m able to give it the placement it deserves.
MP3: Intelligence – Me n’ Arthur Lee
I’m a big Flaming Lips fan and I think at least a part of that overlaps with my love of Intelligence. I think the Intelligence have the same attitude towards pop music that the Flaming Lips had towards rock in the late ’80s. It’s weird, fuzzy and extremely good. “Me n Arthur Lee” is, at its core, a simple pop song that was lucky enough to be placed in very, very good hands. If you like things that are catchy, but just slightly dissonant (which is how I would describe most of the music I love), you could do no better this week than to check out “Me n’ Arthur Lee.”
The Intelligence hoped to have this finished up before their long tour, but it didn’t pan out in time. However, you should be able to order this single from In the Red very soon. And until then, might I suggest picking up their great ’09 record Fake Surfers?
