Late last week my co-worker Matt brought Boogie Boarder’s album Pizza Hero in to work and gave it a spin. I can generally trust him, and Boogie Boarder is a great example of why: he digs some weird, but totally rad stuff.

Boogie Boarder have embraced dissonance with the same skillful ear as some of my favorite bands. There’s a bit of Deerhoof, some Ponytail, a touch of Death from Above 1979 but a lot of originality. It’s powerful, guitar and bass driven and way awesome.
