After weeks of local rumors and good long while of actually knowing it was an inevitability, I finally have permission to say on here that the Dame is closing. I talked to the Dame’s general manager Nick Sprouse today and he confirmed that their last day is August 23. Luckily that’s only a little over a week before Buster’s opens.
This, of course, comes not even a year after the original versions of the Dame and Buster’s were leveled to make way for Center Point in downtown Lexington… which still stands as a giant pit. Thing in Lexington have been in serious flux for the past year or two; here’s hoping things settle down in the new future a little better than they started.
