[MP3] new Brown Recluse Sings: “Contour and Context”
August 6th, 2009 by Matt

Man, does it take summer to inspire people to write summer songs? Maybe so, considering that it seems like all the good pop songs are coming out just as summer is waning. Brown Recluse Sings, a group I haven’t heard from in a while, has a new EP ready to share with us. “The Soft Skin” EP is out Sept 8, but we can have a first listen right now.
MP3: Brown Recluse Sings – Contour and Context
I get so worn out writing about pop music because I rarely ever have anything to say beyond “gee, what a fun melody!” I mean, I rarely ever focus on the lyrics before the fifth listen through unless it’s a really sparse song. And maybe that’s a good thing; maybe a good pop song lets you focus less on the specifics and more on being happy and a little better off than you were before you hit “play.”
