[STREAM/BUY] new Radiohead: “Harry Patch (In Memory Of)”

August 5th, 2009 by Matt

Whew. What a day to oversleep, huh? Radiohead checked in today with a new song commemorating the life of recently-deceased WWI vet Harry Patch. He spoke out against war right up until the end when he died at age 111. To put in context just how amazing it is that he lived so long, his wikipedia article states that he was “too old” to fight in World War II. But it wasn’t his age that impressed Radiohead, it was his commitment to peace and the ending of war. So for that reason, they penned a song in memory of Harry Patch.
