Cymbals Eat Guitars’ debut album isn’t even in stores and they’ve already had two non-album, new songs make it out into the world. The first, “Tunguska,” was a free giveaway online; this one was recorded as part of their WOXY session.

Unless I’m forgetting one off Why There Are Mountains, “Plainclothes” is the first Cymbals Eat Guitars with a fairly solid narrative. State troopers die. He and a girl run off to the guest room to make love. You know how it is. It gets really good around the 2:30 mark, which is unfortunately also when I lose track of his vocals. Can’t wait for a studio version!
