Got an email today with an unexpected surprise: Shonen Knife have a new album out in August and will be touring this year. I’ve dabbled in fandom with regard to their records, but never really went over the top. Still, I’m always excited to hear something new from them (even though it all tends to sound the same). And yeah, this new song is more of the same from them. Really simple pop punk that will possibly make you smile,

If you’ve ever heard Shonen Knife, you’ve heard this song. Only this time instead of being a flying jelly attack or a movable Barbie, they’re singing about a super group made up of all the best musicians from the 70s. Nice. Cute song, but nothing life-changing.
