Wilco + Feist and Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear do “California Stars”

Looks like I missed one of the year’s best team-ups last night in NYC. At Wilco’s show at Coney Island, they brought out Leslie Feist and Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear to sing on “California Stars” and “Hoodoo Voodoo.” Luckily the internet is here for me, so I can still see how it all went down. The “California Stars” video is pretty far away, but the sound is ace. Leslie and Ed sang harmony for Jeff and, though their vocals could be turned up a bit, it’s fantastic. And in “Hoodoo Voodoo” the guest pair are content to rock percussion in the back while Pat and Nels threw blistering guitar solos at each other. Fantastic.

Can’t wait to catch Grizzly Bear at Pitchfork!
