These United States are ready to share their third record with you. Not so unusual a fact until you realize — like I did today — that their debut album came out 18 months ago. I guess that makes the three LPs Irish triplets? But the newest, Everything Touches Everything is a sleaker and faster beast that what you’ve heard so far from These United States. With the exception of a few longer songs, everything on it seems written with their live show in mind.

I first heard “I Want You…” at TUS’ last Lexington show. In a set full of familiar favorites, it was a powerful new song that I would have loved to have heard stretched on twice as long. The song keeps going at a good pace like a cross between Tom Petty and the Modern Lovers’ “Roadrunner.” Perfect song for summer drives or seeing live in concert.
