Jimmy Fallon @ Bonnaroo 6.13.09
June 25th, 2009 by Matt

I’m not really sure at what point I saw Jimmy Fallon at Bonnaroo — everything’s such a hazy, hot blur that it’s a good thing I have photos to remind me what I did and saw! But I do remember being in an air-conditioned tent for a half-hour and laughing intermittently at rock star impersonation, so I know that I did see him.
In all seriousness, I have to give Jimmy props. He’s at the height of his career and it seems like he’s never been working harder. Late Night is 100% swinging for the fences, so even the misses (the Pie Sniffer, 7th Floor West) are noteworthy. And instead of hanging out with his family or hitting up some party, Jimmy was down south, sweating it out with us at Bonnaroo. And the (un)surprising part? He was pretty funny.
Though Jimmy originally was loathe to stoop to impressions (his former bread and butter) on Late Night, he’s re-embraced that old skill. He did a bit where he recounted going to an eco-friendly festival where bands like Green Day, Katy Perry and others sang “green” parodies of their songs. Not always the best, but it was a huge hit with the Bonnaroo crowd.
