[BOOTLEG] Nine Inch Nails @ Bonnaroo 2009

Full Nine Inch Nails photos/review coming soon

Without getting into the specifics (those I’ll save for the actual review), Nine Inch Nails’ Bonnaroo set was as bare-bones as NIN shows these days are. Sure there was a crazy light show, but it was nothing compared to the crazy screens they had last fall. But unlike Pitchfork, I was thrilled with the show. It was easily the best setlist of the three NIN shows I’ve seen. They cut out most of the filler and packed in fan treats like the Gary Numan/Joy Division covers, the not-often-heard Bowie collab “I’m Afraid of Americans” and an appearance by the Dillinger Escape Plan — an appearance my roommate described as “guys who were even more intense than Trent.” If it turns out to be the last American NIN show, as Trent said it would, I think it was a great one to end on.

For those of you who just want a taste, here’s the awesome cover they did of Gary Numan’s song “Metal.” Thanks very much to the original taper. Full setlist after the break.
